When we talk about energy, there are different forms, and one of them is chemical energy. This energy is stored in chemical substances, such as batteries. Battery storage is a process based on the conversion of chemical energy into . It's this conversion that powers our electronic devices! Take a look at how a battery works in this educational video.

Batteries

Batteries store energy by converting electrical energy into chemical energy.

Batteries are made up of two electrodes, the anode and cathode, submerged in a gelified chemical substance, the electrolyte.

Storage phase

When the battery is supplied with electrical energy, ions move from the anode to the cathode. This charges the battery.

Release phase

The battery is connected to an electric device. The same chemical process takes place in reverse. The stored chemical energy is released in the form of electrical energy.
